Health Net Federal Services Sponsors USO Thanksgiving Dinner

Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) is the newest USO Alaska sponsor, supporting military programs and outreach. This includes co-sponsoring the first-ever USO Alaska Thanksgiving Buffet planned for service members and families stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the Arctic Warrior Zone.

USO Alaska will host a free Thanksgiving buffet for those currently serving in the military–active duty, members of the National Guard, Reserves and their families–to include families of deployed service members. Catering is provided compliments of the Hard Rock Café of Anchorage. Starbucks and the Odom Corporation are supplying beverages to help kick off the holiday season for the JBER military community.

“There is no better way to convey our support and gratitude to military members and their families than through the sponsorship of a Thanksgiving dinner,” said John Butler, Senior Vice President for TRICARE Programs at Health Net Federal Services. “We are honored to partner with the USO to say thank you and kick-off the holiday season at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.”

“The generosity of our sponsors enables us to support the USO’s mission to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to our nation,” said USO Alaska Sr. Center Director Tara Mogan. “At JBER, that includes providing them with a home-style Thanksgiving dinner, with all the trimmings!”
