Barbara, Center Operations Specialist – JBER, USO Alaska.
I am the Center Operations Specialist for JBER and have been with the USO since the center opened in 2016. I have been in Alaska for 22 years and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, hunting and dipnetting. I also volunteer with Girl Scouts as a Troop Leader and Service Unit Cookie Manager, and with Special Olympics Alaska as a bowling coach. My wonderful and supportive spouse is Troy, and we have two children, Janna and Jaden. Prior to joining the USO, I worked for Force Support Squadron (FSS) here on JBER in the marketing office.
Working with the military members and families here on JBER is amazing. I love seeing people return to our center and getting to know the families in our JBER community. I hope that even though our military families will eventually move on, they will remember their time at the USO here on JBER—and while they are here, they will bring a friend to visit our center.
